Devotions: Ps 41, 44, 52; Deut 8:11-20; Heb 2:11-18; Jn 2:1-12
When we care for those less fortunate than ourselves, God takes care of us! He provides for my needs, heals my illnesses, and makes me strong in His service. Let YHWH be gracious to me—no human friends sustain me, and many people harbor malice against me. I know God loves me, because I am still standing and my enemies have not triumphed over me. Blessed is YHWH, my God and Savior! He puts my enemies to confusion; He is my Boast now and always. He will act in His good time. He makes me like a green olive tree, fruitful in His arbor; I trust in God’s steadfast love today, day by day, forever! Lord I thank You and proclaim Your name in the presence of the godly.
Lord, Your grace alone has provided for me; my good fortune is a blessing from You, and I will neither forget nor appropriate the credit to myself or any other—You are the glorious One! God provides; He makes and keeps covenant with the faithful who acknowledge Him! Idolatry leads to death.
Humanity’s high calling is fulfilled through Jesus the Messiah, for and by Whom all things exist. He brings many to glory. Jesus joined us in human flesh; He died to destroy death for us; He defeated Satan on our behalf. He is our merciful and faithful High Priest; He has made expiation for our sins. Because He Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted now.
Jesus first manifested His glory at the wedding in Cana. At Mary’s instigation, He made excellent wine from more than a hundred gallons of water. When the wedding celebration was over, Jesus and His party went down to Capernaum with Mary and her other sons, and stayed for a few days.
