Grace masters sin

Devotions: Ps 42, 43, 85,86; Jer 10:11-24; Rom 5:12-21; Jn 8:21-32

Much deeper than lusts are the longings of my heart, my soul, my spirit and my flesh for God. Hope in Him, and be lifted up. God does not forget or abandon His own. Lord, vindicate me as this year goes forward. Send out Your light and truth and let them lead me to You, my help and my God. Lord, restore us and revive us. Let me hear what God the Lord will say, speaking peace over His people. His salvation is surely at hand for those who obey and honor Him. YHWH, gladden the soul of Your servant and hearken to my supplication. Teach me to walk in Your way, Lord; I love and thank You with the heart You have made whole and holy. I will glorify Your name forever!

YHWH had Jeremiah say, 'The pagan gods did not make the heavens or earth, and they will perish. Only He Who made the universe will endure. Mortals are stupid and shameful without His grace. Let God correct and purify me, that I may worship and glorify Him alone.

Sin and death came into the world through the first man Adam, so sin was in the world before the law, from Adam to Moses. But God's free gift is not like the trespass; if many died through the trespass of one, much more have God's grace and gift of the one Man Jesus Christ abounded to many. Judgment following one trespass b rought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brings justification. If death ruled through Adam's trespass, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness lead to acquittal and life for all who avail themselves by faith in Him. By one Man's obedience many will be made righteous. Law came in to focus and increase trespass; but where sin increased, grace abounded even more. Grace reigns through righteousness to eternal life, through Jesus the Messiah, our Lord.

Jesus taught: I go away, and you will seek Me and die in your sin, for where I Am going, you cannot come. You are from below; I Am from above; you are of this world, but I Am not. I told you that you will die in your sins, unless you believe that I Am He. They asked Him, 'Who are you?' He replied, 'Exactly what I have told you from the beginning. I have much to say about you, and much to judge; but He Who sent Me is true, and I declare to the world what I have heard from Him.' They didn't understand that Jesus was talking about His Father. So He continued: 'When you have lifted up the Son of man, then you will discover that I Am He, and that I do nothing on my own authority, but speak thus as the Father taught Me. He Who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone for I always do what is pleasing to Him.' Hearing this, many believed in Him. To the Jews who believed in Him, Jesus said: 'If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth and the truth will make you free!'
