Devotions: Ps 33, 107:33-43, 108:1-6; Isa 65:17-25; Rev 22:14-21; Mt 18:21-35
Rejoice in the Lord, righteous ones; praise is fitting for you. Praise God with all your skill, all your music, all your strength. Sing to Him a new song; He loves righteousness and justice; creation is full of YHWH's steadfast love. He created all that exists by His word. So we should revere Him and respect His holiness. He brings the counsel of all other powers to nought. Blessed are all whose God is YHWH, the people He has chosen as His special possession. He watches over all that exists; His eye is on all who fear Him and hope in His steadfast love and faithfulness. He Is our help and our shield; our hearts are glad in Him. He transforms deserts and marshes to fertile leas and fields; He lets the hungry live in plenty; He provides cities, fields, vineyards and farms for His own. So, my Lord, my heart is steadfast; I will sing praises to You all my days. Be exalted, great Lord, above the heavens and the earth.
God spoke: 'I create a new heavens and a new earth; former things will be forgotten. Let My people be glad and rejoice forever in all that I create: a new Jerusalem where My people will live in joy and peace, enjoying the fruit of the land and the repose of the righteous. They will not labor in vain, and there will be no bloodshed, no fear, no pain. The wolf and lamb will feed together; the lion will eat straw like an ox, while the serpent eats dust. They shall not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain.'
Jesus declares: 'Behold, I Am coming soon, with My recompense for everyone. I Am Alpha and Omega, First and Last, Beginning and End. Blessed are all who wash their robes, that they may have right to the tree of life and may enter My city by the gates. Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and fornicators and murderers and idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. I, Jesus, have sent My angel to you with this testimony for the churches. I Am the root and the offspring of David, the bright Morning Star. The Spirit and Bride say, 'Come!' Let all who hear say, 'Come!' And let all who thirst come, and take the water of life without price. Let all who hear the words of prophecy in this book be warned: add to these words, and God will add to you all the plagues described here. Take away from these words, and God will take away your share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. He Who testifies to these things says: 'Surely I Am coming soon.' Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with all the saints. Amen.
Peter asked Jesus, 'Lord, how often must I forgive my brother who sins against me? As many as seven times?' Jesus answered, 'No: seventy times seven! Listen: God's kingdom is like a king who sought to settle accounts with his servants. One was brought in who owed the master ten thousand talents—millions! Since he could not pay, the master ordered that the servant be sold into slavery, with his wife, their children, and all their possessions. The servant fell to his knees and begged the master for mercy, and the master gave it, and forgave the servant's great debt! But as he was leaving the master's presence, that same servant came upon a fellow servant who owed him a hundred denarii—perhaps two percent of the debt the master had just forgiven him. Seizing the other by the throat, the servant demanded immediate payment The second servant fell down and begged for patience. The first servant refused and had his debtor thrown into prison until he should pay the debt. The other servants witnessed all this; they were greatly distressed, and brought the matter to their master's attention. The master confronted the wicked servant and in ager delivered him to the jailers till he should pay his enormous debt in full.' And Jesus concluded: 'So also My heavenly Father will to do every one of you if you do not forgive your brothers and sisters from your hearts!'
