Devotions: Ps 106; Zech 10:1-12; Gal 6:1-10; Lk 18:15-30

Let us turn our hearts and minds from the world and flesh, and praise the Lord. YHWH, You Are good; Your steadfast love endures forever. These trials are light and momentary. So, please, God, remember me when You show favor to Your people. Help me also when You deliver them. I know I am a sinner and the scion of sinners. But You have saved me for Your name's sake. Your people have failed to cling to You, Lord; me, too. But please, Lord, forgive me. Hear my cries of distress; enable me to care for my wife and to help all who are in need. Blessed is YHWH, God of Israel, Father of my Lord Jesus. Praise the Lord!

Zechariah wrote: seek rain from YHWH, Maker of heaven and earth. He alone Is good; ignore the sayings of the godless, the seers, the pundits. And have pity on the selfish leaders who serve themselves and neglect God's people for whom and to whom they should be responsible. God Himself will shepherd us, protect us, gather and succor us, and our hearts will exult in Him, our Redeemer. Glory to His holy name!

Paul wrote: Brothers and sisters, if someone is overtaken by trespass, you who are in the Spirit should restore that person gently. Fulfill Christ's law by bearing one another's burdens. At the same time, each of us should carry his or her own load of personal responsibilities. I am responsible; we are able! Share good things with those who teach God's word to you. God is not mocked; we mortals reap whatever we sow—fleshly corruption or eternal life. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers—the household of faith.

People were bringing infants and small children to Jesus; His disciples tried to prevent this, but Jesus told them, 'Let the children come to Me and don't hinder them. God's kingdom belongs to such people. Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a child would shall not enter that kingdom.' A certain authority asked Jesus, 'Good Teacher, hat shall I do to inherit eternal life?' Jesus said, 'Why do you call Me good? Only God Is good You know the commandments: No adultery, no murder, no theft, no false witness, honor your parents.' The man said to Jesus, 'I have observed all of these from my youth.' Jesus said to him, 'You lack only one thing: sell all you have, and distribute the proceeds to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.' But the man became sad, because he was attached to his great wealth. Looking at him, Jesus remarked, 'How had it is for the rich to enter God's kingdom It is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye than for a rich mortal to enter God's' kingdom.' This surprised the listeners, and they said, 'Then who can be saved?' But Jesus said, 'What is impossible for mortals is possible with God.' Peter said, 'Lo, we have left our homes to follow You.' And Jesus said to them, 'Truly I tell you, no one who has left house or spouse or siblings or parents or children for the sake of God's kingdom, who will not receive manifold more in this age, and in the age to come, eternal life.'
