Lord, be gracious to me—I am trampled by enemies, but I will trust in You. I know God is for me, because my enemies have not triumphed over me. He sends from heaven and saves me; my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make melody to God Most High. Let God be exalted; Lord, let Your glory be over all the earth! God, you know I’m targeted by evil people, but You will foil their plots, and onlookers will realize that God wins! Let the wicked tremble, and the righteous rejoice and take refuge in our holy God. Glory to You, my God and King!

God’s rebuke is awful! Unless we repent and serve Him, we will fall before our enemies, never to rise! So wake up and get with God’s program.

While we’re growing up, we’re under the tutelage of the law. But in the fullness of time, God sent His Son, born of a woman and under the law, to redeem us from under the law. Because we are His own children, His Spirit in us cries out, ‘Abba! Father!’ I am now God son and His heir! Let’s abide in Christ and bear fruit to God’s glory.

Jesus traveled to the region of Tyre and Sidon. There, a Syrophoenician woman accosted Him, begging Jesus to cast a demon from her daughter. Jesus resisted: ‘Let the children—the Jews—be fed; it isn’t right to take their patrimony and throw it to the dogs—the Gentiles.’ But the woman persisted: ‘Yes, Lord, but even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.’ Jesus relented: ‘Go home; the demon has left your daughter.’ She went, and found her daughter lying in bed, and the demon was gone! Jesus continued on His way, to the Sea and the Decapolis. A man was brought to Him who was deaf and had a speech impediment. Jesus opened his ears and set his tongue free, and he was able to hear and to speak plainly. The onlookers were amazed by the goodness of all Jesus did.
