Devotions: Proverbs 11
God values fair measures. Humility promotes wisdom, but pride brings disgrace. The upright are guided by their integrity; the treacherous are ruined by their crookedness and lust. At the day of judgment, wealth cannot help; but righteousness delivers from death. YHWH hates perverse minds, and He delights in the blameless. Outward beauty without discretion is like a gold ring in a pig’s snout. Seek righteousness and reap good; expect wicked gain, and reap destruction. God enriches the generous and impoverishes the miserly. Help others, and God will help you. Trust God and flourish; trust wealth and wither. Protect your family; trouble them, and you inherit the wind. The fool will serve the wise. Righteousness produces life; lawlessness destroys life. All suffer; but the righteous suffer lightly and only for a time; for the wicked and sinful, suffering increases eternally.
